Al-Ahli is planning for the future and wants to extend the contract of its Senegalese international goalkeeper, Édouard Mendy, who still has one year remaining on his current deal, until June 2026.
According to the Saudi press, the club has begun discussions with the player’s agent in recent days regarding a renewal. The management reportedly consulted the Senegalese goalkeeper directly to gauge his desire to continue his adventure in Jeddah. Mendy quickly expressed his agreement to stay, seeing no obstacle to extending his current contract. The Saudi sports daily Al-Riyadiya indicates that negotiations should accelerate after the international break, a period during which the former Chelsea goalkeeper is away with the Senegalese national team. The club plans to finalize the agreement and address any potential requests from Édouard Mendy in the coming days.
As a reminder, the African champion joined Al-Ahli in the summer of 2023 from Chelsea on a three-year contract. Since his arrival, he has quickly established himself as one of the club’s key players, consistently delivering top-level performances.
