The CAF Awards 2025 ceremony takes place tonight in Rabat, Morocco, and Senegal will be represented solely by Adji Ndiaye, the only Senegalese nominee across all categories.
Tonight, all of Africa will celebrate its champions and talents. At this prestigious ceremony, the best male and female athletes of 2025 will be honored. For Senegal, the only representative on the CAF Awards stage is Adji Ndiaye, who, in the Best Young Player category, carries the torch and represents the hope of Senegalese women’s football on the continent.
Having recently qualified with Senegal for the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, where she distinguished herself by saving a decisive penalty against Ivory Coast, thus securing Senegal’s third consecutive appearance at the tournament, the AS Bambey goalkeeper is in contention for the Best Young Player award. She faces competition from Doha El Madani, who plays for AS FAR in Morocco, and Shakirat Moshoon, who plays for Bayelsa Queens in Nigeria. Despite her young age, Adji Ndiaye has impressed with her consistency, decisive reflexes, and anticipation, also contributing to a strong performance at the last Africa Cup of Nations where Senegal was eliminated in the quarterfinals.
With no other Senegalese player nominated in any of the categories this year, Senegal is placing all its hopes on its goalkeeper, Adji Ndiaye, hoping that her nomination will materialize tonight.
