In a friendly match this Saturday, November 15, 2025, at London’s Emirates Stadium, Senegal lost 0-2 to Brazil. This defeat ends a 26-match unbeaten run for the Lions, who were outclassed in this game. Senegal’s last loss was on September 12, 2023, in a friendly against Algeria in Diamniadio (0-1).

This match was friendly in name only. From the opening moments, the intensity, pressing, and aggression were evident. On the first play of the game, Vinicius found Mendy, who made a comfortable save. In the 3rd minute, Senegal responded with Ismaïla Sarr, whose shot went wide. Moments later, Brazil hit the post. The crowd, erupting with every play, knew they were witnessing a prestigious match between two teams that were not about to give an inch.

The following minutes were a real ordeal for the Lions. The Auriverdes, relentless and aggressive, pounced on every ball like starving men and created several dangerous situations. Brazil’s dominance, overwhelming for over 20 minutes, finally paid off. After a quick recovery, Casemiro tried to find Cunha in the center. But his deflected pass fell to Estevao on the right wing. The Chelsea prodigy needed no second invitation and fired past Édouard Mendy. The Seleção opened the scoring in the 29th minute.

Shortly before halftime, Brazil earned a well-placed free kick. While everyone expected a direct shot from Estevao or Rodrygo, the latter found Casemiro unmarked by the Senegalese defense. The former Real Madrid player controlled the ball and beat Mendy to give Brazil a two-goal lead (2-0).

Stunned, the Lions tried to respond and reduce the deficit before the break. But Ismaïla Sarr, Pape Gueye, Sadio Mané, and Gana Gueye were all thwarted by either the defense or Ederson. The two teams went into the locker rooms with the score at 2-0 for the South Americans.
